Fitness Stuff!
Maqks’s philosophy surrounding fitness is quite holistic and is centered around total wellness. They are an NASM- Certified Personal Trainer. The scope that Maqks practices in is heavily informed by their training as a dancer. Working with the person as a whole is crucial to genuine growth within the realm of fitness. Maqks often works with trans populations, artists, and people with limited mobility.
Maqks will work with clients to be able to personalize an approach that will be productive towards the clients physical goals as well as their mindset surrounding the exercise programming.
Part of Maqks’s philosophy is also radical acceptance within the fitness space. They work heavily on dismantling colonial, misogynistic, ableist, capitalistic and racist rhetoric that is disseminated through the wellness spaces. Maqks conducts conversations with each client to ensure that they are moving toward the goal of self love and respect and trust as this is integral to Maqks’s beliefs as a fitness professional.
